WHAT IS SURAMOX® 50% OSP?

Suramox® 50% OSP is a  water-soluble antibiotic for pigs. It is made according to the Virbasol® process. As is known, the β-lactam ring of amoxicillin is very sensitive to pH, pressure, temperature, enzyme interactions and the hardness of the water.

The Virbasol® process ensures high solubility and a constant concentration. Moreover, due to the Virbasol process, the pH value and hardness of the water do not influence the effectiveness.

The dissolved amoxicillin is stable and therefore remains effective for a long time and consistently.

Suramox 50% has a good stability of more than 96% after 6 hours to 85% after 24 hours.

Suramox® 50% is registered for administration in liquid feeding as an indication for the treatment of pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae. The waiting period for meat is 14 days.

PHARMODYNAMICS PROPERTIES

  • Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin obtained from 6 APA nuclei (6 amino-penicillin acids) It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts bactericidally against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially that acts bactericidally against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae isolated from pigs.
  • Amoxicillin acts by inhibiting the synthesis of the cell wall or or activating enzymes that break down the cell wall (bactericidal effect).
